About Me

My wife, Barbara, started our shop in the basement of our home in Marion, NY in May of 2001. This began as just a hobby. All the kids have grown and moved on, and this left us all alone in this huge house. Maybe mid-40's had something to do with it, but anyways we remodeled the basement and opened our doors almost 10 years ago. We learned a lot about the business during this time but kept true to our philosophies all these years. That is: Buy what we love and those that love the primitives will find us, and Buy at the lowest price we can so as to keep the resale price the lowest we possibly can. These 2 simple philosophies has kept us going. In the 2nd year after we opened in the basement with 900 sq ft, we quickly outgrew this place and started looking for an external building. We began to get serious and questioned whether we could actually make a living doing this fun stuff. We soon found a building for sale that was SO COOL but needed so much work. Since I was handy, the price was right, and we had nothing to hold us back, we jumped in. We opened the doors of the new 5000 sq ft building in 2003 and never looked back.
